Reverend Dr. Darrell K. White

Pastor White
The Reverend Dr. Darrell K. White is a native of Louisiana and represents the fourth generation of Baptist ministers in his family. His undergraduate work was completed at Grambling State University, Grambling, Louisiana where he was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Technology. In acknowledgement of his calling from the Lord, he matriculated to the Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia and obtained a Master of Divinity degree. Recognizing the need for further education in ministry, Dr. White attended the Presbyterian School of Christian Education and earned a Master of Arts degree in Christian Education. He is also the recipient of an earned Doctorate in Ministry from Howard University School of Divinity in Washington, DC.

Dr. White was licensed to preach the gospel in August, 1983 at the New Hope Baptist Church of Welsh, Louisiana and was ordained in August, 1984 at the Israelite Missionary Baptist Church of Crowley, Louisiana. In 1986, Dr. White was called to the pastorate of the Liberty Baptist Church in King William Virginia. Under his leadership the church grew spiritually and physically in the name of the Lord. In 1990, the Moore Street Missionary Baptist Church of Richmond, Virginia extended the call to Dr. White to become the Assistant to the Pastor and the Minister of Christian Education, full-time.

Dr, Darrell K. White has served as Youth Minister of the Mount Carmel Baptist Church of Richmond; Chairman of the Christian Education Committee of the Pamunkey Baptist Association, King William County; Instructor in the Congress of Christian Education of the Baptist General Convention of Virginia and the Congress of Christian Education of the Progressive National Baptist Convention, Inc. Reverend White has served as a full-time Instructor in the Department of Religion and Philosophy at Virginia Union University, Richmond, Virginia; and Coordinator of Religious Activities at Winston-Salem State University, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He also served as an Associate Minister at the United Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, under the Reverend Dr. James D. Ballard, Senior Minster. Presently Dr. White serves as the Pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church of Alexandria (Gum Springs), Virginia.

Dr. White holds membership in the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc.; Baptist General Convention of Virginia; National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP); and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He serves on the Board of Trustees for the John Leland Center for Theological Studies, Arlington,VA; Virginia One Church One Child, Inc. (Secretary); Vice President of the Baptist General Convention of Virginia; Second Vice- Moderator for the Northern Virginia Baptist Association. Dr. White is the past Chair of the Evangelism and Christian Education Commission of the Baptist General Convention of Virginia. He is the author of Understanding and Engaging in Missions, and was listed in Who’s Who Among American Colleges and Universities, 1981. At the 1997 Annual Session of the Baptist General Convention of Virginia, Dr.White received the Convention’s Outstanding Service Award as a Christian Educator. He was listed in Who’s Who Among Teachers in American Colleges and Universities, 2000.

Dr. White is married to the former Ms. Jaffee Ferree and they have two daughters, Sierra and Nia.
